About
Annan is a DPhil researcher in Geography and the Environment at the University of Oxford. He holds an MPhil in Architecture and Urban Design from the University of Cambridge and a diploma in Architectural Professional Practice from the Architectural Association, and previously worked at Foster + Partners, one of the world's leading architecture firms.
His interdisciplinary research spans animal geography, more-than-human architecture, bio-art and postphenomenology. His work has been featured at Ars Electronica and the Edinburgh Fringe, he won the 2024 BioDesign Challenge Grand Prize, and he has presented his research at international conferences including the RGS, RSD, ASC, ISEA and TTT.
Annan has over two years of tutoring experience, and his Oxford admissions coaching has a strong record, particularly for students applying to the humanities and social sciences. His subject expertise spans geography, environmental studies and sustainability, architecture, urban studies, design and art. At Oxford he has been a teaching assistant for Qualitative Methods in Geography, and at Cambridge he supervised undergraduates in architectural visualisation and communication.
His teaching is interdisciplinary and empathetic. Rather than simply helping students produce stronger applications, he helps them explore their interests, find meaningful academic and career paths, and plan for the long term with confidence.
