About
Geena reads Medicine at Keble College, University of Oxford, where she graduated with a First Class BA in Medical Sciences, ranked 11th of 149 in her year. She is now in her clinical training at the John Radcliffe Hospital. She has done neuroscience research in Oxford, London, New York and Finland, including work on how brain cells die after haemorrhagic stroke, and has two PubMed-indexed publications: a first-author review in the Journal of Cerebral Blood Flow and Metabolism, and an essay in the Orphanet Journal of Rare Diseases that won an international prize.
Geena has tutored since 2022, teaching more than 20 students across over 1,000 hours, online with families in the UK, Hong Kong and Australia. She supports students in GCSE, IGCSE and A-Level Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Maths, as well as every stage of the medical school application, drawing on her own A*s in all four subjects and a UCAT score of 3360, in the top 1% of candidates. She has also designed and taught a three-day problem-solving course for 30 high-school students in Seoul, through the Oxbridge Intercultural Bridging Programme, and has experience supporting students with ADHD and autism.
Having sat these exams recently herself, she pinpoints where students lose marks and rebuilds the understanding behind them. She plans each lesson around the student, sets targeted homework and keeps parents updated on progress. Her research lets her take students beyond the syllabus too, which matters for Oxbridge interviews and super-curricular reading, and she helps them grow confident discussing scientific and medical topics in their own words.
