About
Josephine read History of Art at the University of Cambridge and went on to a Master's in Architectural History at The Bartlett, UCL. She tutors across a range of ages and abilities, from younger children through to university applicants, and specialises in the humanities, with experience teaching English, History, Geography, Religious Studies, Sociology, Economics, Politics and History of Art to students aged 10 to 18.
Her tutoring aims to foster a genuine interest in the subject at hand, paired with a clear and thorough understanding of what is expected in exams and assessed work, giving each student the confidence and skills to excel. She begins by establishing the fundamental principles of each subject, a strong foundation from which students can develop more advanced knowledge and critical thinking. She takes a highly personalised approach, adapting lessons to each student's learning style, needs and goals, and works with them on structured revision plans, strong essay writing and exam technique, with written feedback that identifies and addresses areas for improvement, helping each student reach their full potential.
Alongside her academic background, Josephine brings a warm, articulate and encouraging approach to teaching, and a genuine enthusiasm for helping students develop confidence, curiosity and a lasting enjoyment of their subjects.
